Some Feedback

Post by Tiamarth » Wed Mar 25, 2015 5:31 pm

I like the UI, I like the loading speed and the ability to choose between Trident or Blink. I like tab groups, I like the folder browser, and I like the low memory usage.

I don't like:

The current behavior of the address bar: I'm typing in the address of a website without appending "http://" or "www." to it out of habit, because other browsers assume the result to be a website. Tungsten assume that it's a search query, and then searches for the terms in what appears to be a custom Google search field. This is inefficient. It also seems like actually adding the "www." prefix opens the address in my default browser as opposed to Tungsten, I hope that's a bug.

Inability to change search engines: I prefer Bing over Google, and Google over Tungsten's built-in search. I'd like to be able to use a different search engine.

Hi Tiamarth, thank you for feedbacks.

It seems to be a bug. However, it works according to specifications on Tungsten 2.02 or earlier.
Of course, some address without "http://" or "www." should be recognized to be URL (e.g. tungsten-start.net), we will fix this issue on future version.

This behavior is by design as expected, this is one of the reasons that are free of charge.
If Bing's custom search exists like Google's, we will try to be able to use it.
In addition, if the number of Tungsten's users increases dramatically, we may have to do reconsidering.

This issue fixed in Tungsten 2.03.
It is now being recognized as a URL, except for new gTLD since 2012.

Hi. Thanks for using and recommending.

Both browsers may be similar to the appearance. However, Tungsten doesn't have any relationship to the other, and we think Tungsten is more simple.

Yes, we are Japanese, as written in readme.txt. We can read or write in English barely, but feel difficult to listen.

Tungsten's author is two members, MSR and Joker.
We want to make an unique browser, then we've made this software since Nov, 2012. We are adding features and improving now.

Tungsten is typical japan style.
Sort of design idea for female users,it's delicacy & sweet like Japan food.

Actually, im so surprise Tungsten lack of user's support, maybe the major issue is Tungsten doesn't support Windows XP.

i've already recommend some nice chromium based browser before.
Would you take a look when you have some time? Maybe you get more pretty idea to develop Tungsten .
